Brea, CA (August 18, 1999) -- Suzuki Marine’s outboard motors have a well-deserved reputation as rugged, dependable powerplants that can push all types of boats and take most any punishment the great outdoors has to offer.

Suzuki Marine has introduced new 25 and 30 horsepower four-stroke outboard motors for 2000 that will carry on this tradition – with the added benefits of Suzuki’s advanced four-stroke technology. These motors will not only be powerful and tough, they will offer fresh and saltwater boaters alike greatly improved fuel economy and quiet operation.

These clean-burning outboards already meet federal EPA 2006 exhaust emissions standards and will meet the needs of a wide variety of boaters, fishermen and hunters. They have the low-end punch and top-end power to handle anything from a Jon boat to a saltwater skiff to a fully-loaded pontoon boat. Suzuki’s new motors are also perfect for many inland waterways and backwater bayous that have horsepower restrictions.

Suzuki’s new 25 and 30 horsepower outboards feature a variety of technical advancements usually not found on motors of this size, including a newly designed three-cylinder single-overhead-cam (SOHC) powerhead with the largest displacement in its class. Two intake valves and a single exhaust valve for each cylinder increase horsepower and torque. Like Suzuki’s IMTEC Innovation Award-winning 40 and 50 horsepower four-strokes, a chain-driven valve train with hydraulic adjuster provides exceptional reliability and durability.

Easy starting, stable idle and optimum performance are assured, thanks to a new digital CDI ignition system and large capacity CPU. Triple Mikuni carburetors with accelerator pumps are used to deliver smooth and responsive acceleration from idle to wide-open throttle.

On the water, you’ll notice how quiet these outboards are thanks to a new cowling seal design that adds to sound damping and provides for improved water tightness.

Operators of tiller models will appreciate Suzuki’s new front-mounted linear steering adjuster. Now you can tighten or loosen steering movement without tools. And the gas-assisted tilt system makes raising the outboard easy. Power trim and tilt models are also available.

Maintenance is easier than ever, with a new front-mounted oil filter and built-in fresh water flush port.

As with every Suzuki outboard, these new 25 and 30 horsepower four-strokes are backed by the company’s industry-leading three-year limited warranty. Suzuki also offers an optional three-year Extended Protection Plan, for a total of six years of protection.
