BREA, CALIF. (August 18, 1999) -- Suzuki is filling out its family of award-winning four-stroke outboard motors with new 25 and 30 horsepower models for the year 2000.
Suzuki now offers eight clean-burning, fuel-efficient four-strokes ranging from 9.9 to 70 horsepower, including four models with advanced sequential electronic fuel injection – more than any other outboard manufacturer.
Each one of these engines already meets the federal EPA 2006 exhaust emissions standards and provides the quiet, smooth, dependable performance boaters have come to expect from Suzuki. That’s part of the reason why Suzuki four-strokes won the IMTEC Innovation Award two years running.
For two-stroke fans, Suzuki continues to offer a full roster of hard-running, reliable outboards all the way up to the flagship V-6 225 EFI.
And every Suzuki outboard is backed by the company’s industry leading three-year limited warranty. An optional three-year Extended Protection Plan is available, for a total of six years of coverage.
Portable 9.9/15 HP Four-Strokes
These portable two-cylinder powerhouses are ideal for everything from inflatables to aluminum fishing boats to small pontoon boats. With 15 and 20-inch shaft lengths available, they are also great "kicker" motors for larger fishing boats and sailboats. These motors start easily, run quietly and provide smooth, even acceleration across the power curve. They also provide fuel economy up to 38-percent better than comparable two-strokes.
Small Mid-Range 25/30 HP Four-Strokes
These new-for-2000 outboards will meet the needs of a variety of pleasure boaters, fishermen and hunters. With three cylinders and a 597cc displacement, they have the torque to push a family pontoon boat or a duck-hunting Jon boat complete with people, dogs and gear. Yet Suzuki’s new 25/30 still provide the smooth acceleration and top-end performance fresh and saltwater boaters and anglers want. They are also ideal for lakes, rivers and estuaries that have horsepower restrictions. In the Suzuki tradition, the 25/30 horsepower four-strokes offer features not usually found in the class, including a freshwater flushing system and a maintenance free cam chain with automatic hydraulic adjuster.
Mid-Range 40/50 HP EFI Four-Strokes
Suzuki’s 40 and 50 horsepower EFI Four-Stroke outboards raised the bar for mid-range four-stroke performance – and took home the prestigious IMTEC Innovation Award last year. They are the only outboards in their class to feature the performance, efficiency and reliability of sequential electronic fuel injection. These motors are ideal for walleye fishing boats, larger pontoon boats, RIB inflatables and many other uses. Suzuki’s 40/50 EFI Four-Strokes are based on Suzuki’s in-line three-cylinder automotive engine, the same engine which powers one of Japan’s most popular mini vans, the Suzuki Wagon R. They’re the first outboard motors ever to feature dual overhead cams, four valves per cylinder, an oil-bathed timing chain and a direct ignition system.
Large Mid-Range 60/70 HP EFI Four-Strokes
Winners of the Innovation Award at the 1997 IMTEC show, Suzuki’s 60/70 horsepower outboards were the first four-strokes ever to feature sequential electronic fuel injection. These in-line four-cylinder motors – based on Suzuki’s proven 1.3-liter automotive engine – have won more than awards. They’ve won the hearts of boaters and fishermen everywhere who are looking for the fuel efficiency and quiet operation of four-strokes with the rugged dependability to last for the long run.
Suzuki Two-Stroke Outboards
Suzuki continues to offer a line of two-stroke outboards with a reputation for performance, fuel efficiency and reliability. Portable five and six horsepower models are ideal for powering cartoppers, canoes, yacht tenders or inflatables. Suzuki’s 85 and 100 horsepower outboards are the perfect powerplants for everything from deck boats to flats skiffs to offshore center consoles, with features like oil injection, MicroLink or Digital IC Ignition, loop charging, dual cooling water intakes and more. When it comes to electronic fuel injected two-strokes, Suzuki rules the waves – with 115, 140, 150, 200 and 225 horsepower models. These motors have set the standard for performance and reliability, whether it’s on a bass boat, bowrider or big offshore fishing machine.
