February 13, 2003 (MIAMI) - SUZUKI MARINE kicked off the 2003 Miami International Boat Show today by unveiling three new V-6 four-stroke outboard motors to a gathering of leading marine editors, writers and boating enthusiasts.

This special boat show preview marked the first worldwide showing of SUZUKI's powerful new 200-horsepower (DF200), 225-horsepower (DF225) and 250-horsepower (DF250) four-stroke outboards, slated for introduction later this Fall as 2004 models. The new DF250 is the world's first 250-horsepower V-6 four-stroke and the most powerful outboard ever built by SUZUKI MOTOR CORPORATION.

"Our designers and engineers pulled out all the stops to develop an outboard that delivers what today's boaters want - a powerful V6 4-stroke that's dependable, clean, and quiet," said Larry Vandiver, director of sales and marketing for SUZUKI MARINE. "They succeeded not just once, but three times with three new V-6 four-stroke motors that are an ideal match for a wide variety of fresh and saltwater boats, from walleye boats and bay boats to serious bluewater fishing machines," Vandiver added.

A compact, narrow profile motor and improved balance on the transom were two key design objectives, achieved by utilizing a new V-design block in combination with SUZUKI's proven offset driveshaft. Advanced features include an all-new DOHC, 24-valve powerhead with 3.6-liter displacement (the largest in this category) and a newly engineered lower unit to swing a larger prop. For the boater, this means superior hole shot - even on heavy offshore boats - and better performance across the powerband.

Each new SUZUKI V-6 four-stroke features digital sequential electronic fuel injection controlled by a powerful 32-bit onboard computer for optimum performance under all boating conditions. In addition, the DF250 will incorporate variable valve timing to provide efficient combustion and more torque from mid-range to wide-open-throttle.

SUZUKI is planning a global press introduction June 1-3 at the prestigious Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida. Editors and writers from the U.S., South America, Europe, Asia and Australia will have the opportunity to thoroughly test and evaluate these new motors on a variety of boats.
